Life is full of the unexpected. In my life, they’ve taken the form of a surprise cancer diagnosis, a marriage that didn’t work after an adoption and IVF did, and finding myself as a single mom of 5 kids under 6, including twins. The unexpected can be devastating. Unless you remember that you ARE the hero of your story. In that case, the unexpected changes shape. It’s not something that destroys you. It’s a plot twist, and only you can figure out what happens next. That can be immensely freeing—the world is new and beautiful and you get to live it however you want. “On no…I’m divorced. What do I do?” “WHATEVER I WANT.” This is my story—the story I am writing.
